(Cedar City, UT) - The Utah Nonprofits Association (UNA), Southern Utah University (SUU) and American Express Center for Community Development announced that they are partnering to provide an outcome measurement workshop for nonprofit organizations in Cedar City on November 1, 2012. The workshop will present nonprofits with essential tools to measure and report the impact of their programs and services.

The workshop, “Meeting your Mission and Measuring your Impact: Outcome Measurement Training”, will focus on the fundamentals of outcome measurements. It will include how to utilize the most effective outcome measurements, develop a logic model, and identify data sources for measurements. The goal of this workshop is to build nonprofits fundraising capacity by arming them with the necessary measurement tools for grant writing and reporting back to funders and donors. “Outcome measurements bring more funding to nonprofits” says Chris Bray, Executive Director of Utah Nonprofits Association, “Stories are nice, but funders want other measurements that show impact of services. This workshop will be important for all nonprofits to attend.” The workshop is for nonprofit professionals, board members and volunteers and SUU’s Master of Public Administration students.

The training on November 1 in Cedar City is the first of a series of outcome measurement workshops that UNA will offer statewide. UNA is working to partner with local colleges and universities to supply nonprofits with additional local resources. The series is funded by American Express and will take place in Cedar City, Provo, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Logan through 2013.
