Chen Jiong received his Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees from the China’s Central Academy of Fine School of Architecture. A member of China Arts and Crafts Association, Jiong is currently associate professor of architecture design at Renmin University. As an architect, he presided over such projects as the development of the China Ministry of Public Security Police Station, the redesign and reconstruction of the Beijing Airport Road and resigned the logo for the Chinese People’s Court and exterior building identification signs which have been implemented throughout the country. His work has been published in Real Estate Full-Length Planning, Chen Jiong Landscape Sketch Series and Chen Hao Chen Jiong Drawings among others. As an artist, his paintings and watercolors have been featured in numerous exhibitions throughout China.
Art Insights is a weekly program hosted during the fall and spring semesters by SUU’s Art and Design faculty. Students and community members meet weekly to experience presentations and discussions by visiting artists and art educators from around the nation who share their work and insights and attend gallery openings. Admission is free, and the general public is invited to attend.
