Charles Cooley loved the story of the little boy who was tossing a Starfish back into the ocean…upon being told he couldn’t make a difference; said it made a difference to that one and will to all the Starfish thrown back into the sea.
Co-founder Donna Cooley said, “Greg and Myra have been a special friend to the Happy Factory for many years and Charlie and I were always so grateful for their support and assistance. I am pleased the board of trustees choose them as award recipients this year.”
The award will be presented at the Happy Factory Gala to be held on Thursday November 8th at 6:00 PM in the Great Hall located on the campus at Southern Utah University. A limited number of tickets are available at $50 each with a table of eight tickets for $400. The origin of Mosdell Sanitation is fascinating when a need turned into a business. In 1946 son Ellis and father Charles Mosdell began collecting food scraps from cafes in Cedar City to feed their pigs. Garbage pickup was not as organized as it is today in the city and county so the cafes asked if they could take their garbage to the dump. Recognizing a business opportunity they began hauling garbage.
Ellis and Connie Mosdell ran Mosdell Sanitation until 1988 when Greg and Myra Mosdell returned to Cedar City and purchased the business.
In 2005 Mosdell Sanitation expanded into Beaver County in addition to Iron County. Thru the years many members of the Mosdell family worked in the business currently sons Nolan and Cade work with their parents along with Greg’s sister Lauri Evans.
The Mosdell family is grateful to have great employees and appreciate their customers. They are happy to be a part of the Iron County business community and they have supported the Happy Factory for many years and appreciate the mission and work of the Happy Factory.
