    (St. George, UT) - Thomas Nicholas (Nick) Smith, 70, currently of St. George, Utah, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 at his home. He was born in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and lived all over the state of Wisconsin until 1967 when he moved to Denver, Colorado. There he met his wife, Ruth and they were married in 1972. They moved to St. George in 2003.

    Nick was a journeyman meat cutter, meat buyer for Safeway stores, and a food broker until his retirement in 1999. He loved all sports but especially Indy car racing. He was a Life Member of the NRA, and loved to do woodworking.

    He is survived by his wife, Ruth; mother, Marcella (Ignatius) Fusher; sister, Lisa (Jorge) Regino and their family and his beloved dogs, Gigi and Buster.

    A memorial service will be held in Colorado at a later date.
