(Cedar City, UT) - Billie Bernice Titcomb Hansen, 70, of Minersville, Utah died on June 13, 2012 of cancer. She was born on August 20, 1941 in Magna, Utah, to Francis and Veona Titcomb. Billie grew up in Magna, and after graduating from Cyprus High School, began working at the Hercules Aerospace Company until she married and started a family. In 1979, Billie moved to Cedar City, Utah where she worked for the Bureau of Land Management and later, the Federal Aviation Administration. That is when she discovered a love for flying and got her private pilot’s license and bought her very own Piper Cherokee airplane. Billie transferred to a Flight Standards facility in Casper, Wyoming and retired in 2001 with over 20 years of outstanding civil service with the federal government. She finally settled in Minersville, Utah. Billie enjoyed being involved with young people and was an unofficial foster mother to many teens in every place she lived. She took many “challenging” teens into her home and provided a stable environment for them to grow and flourish. Many still to this day call her “Mom”.

Billie is survived by her four children, Val Hansen; Nannette (Paul) Klein; Rusty (Marla) Hansen; Wendie (Michael) Mitchell; their father, Lew Hansen; four grandchildren, Casey Hansen; Nick Klein; Skylar D. Hansen; and Jordan Klein, and her two brothers, Ronald Francis and Tommie Smith Titcomb, and her loving little Pomeranian, Mokee!

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, and her other faithful friend of 14 years, a Chow-Chow named Shadow. Graveside services were held on Friday, June 15 2012, at 2:00 pm at the Cedar City Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the Iron County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, as well as Southern Utah Home Care and Hospice, for providing her with comfort, care, and quality of life in her final days. Billie was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Thank You, Mom for all you taught us. We love you...Arrangements entrusted to: The Swindlehurst Funeral Home.
