The new national conservation areas are part of BLM’s National Landscape Conservation System (NLCS), which contains approximately 27 million acres of the West’s most spectacular landscapes. The ceremony program will also feature a performance by the Shivwitz Band of Paiute youth dancers and a blessing from an Elder from the Shivwitz Band of Paiute.
The event is free and will be open to the public. The ceremony will take place at the Tuacahn Amphitheater, Monday, May 7, 3:30 p.m in Ivins, Utah, with the stunning Red Mountain Wilderness as a backdrop.
