(St. George, UT) - Dixie Care & Share and Grace Episcopal Church have entered into a partnership in which Dixie Care & Share will operate the St. George Community Soup Kitchen located at 1072 East 900 South providing hot meals Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to those in need at Grace Episcopal Church.

Jae Maxfield, Executive Director of Dixie Care & Share said, “This partnership allows Dixie Care and Share to provide a service to those in need at the church facility at the lowest possible cost. The St. George Community Soup Kitchen program has been serving the needs of the hungry since 2004 and now with the combined resources of Dixie Care & Share, Grace Episcopal Church, LDS Bishops' Storehouse and Utah Food Bank."

Jim Roberts, a volunteer at the St. George Community Soup Kitchen for the past 2 years and acting executive director said, “We appreciate the efforts of our volunteers very much and look forward to continuing to serve and support the St. George Community Soup Kitchen program that is so vital to our community."

The St. George Community Soup Kitchen serves 75 to 100 people each day, three times a week, from its interim location at Grace Episcopal Church while it continues its effort to locate a permanent facility.

The Reverend Dr. Douglas Gregg, Associate for Faith Formation at Grace Episcopal Church, will serve as acting chair of Dixie Care & Share’s St. George Community Soup Kitchen advisory committee.

Dr. Gregg said, “Jim and I are honored to be part of an organization that will work tirelessly to combat hunger. Equally important, we are pleased to be part of a team that is working to create a sustainable organization that will serve as a model for administrative and financial transparency."

Both Dixie Care & Share and Grace Episcopal Church will accept donations designated to support the Community Soup Kitchen.
