  • Aggies-SUU T-Birds Basketball Game On KCSG Saturday

    (Logan, UT) – Utah State Aggie fans will have plenty of opportunities to view USU athletics this weekend as both the football and men’s basketball teams will have games televised live.

    USU men’s basketball (1-1) will host Southern Utah (3-1) on Saturday, November 19 at 7PM, and that game will be televised live on KCSG-TV (Comcast Ch. 116, DirecTV Ch. 44, Dish Network Ch. 37) with Mychal Clayton (play-by-play) and Brooks Hansen (color) calling the action. The game will also be available via the internet at ESPN3.com and is part of the ESPN Full Court Package.

    USU football (4-5, 2-2 WAC) is playing at Idaho (2-8, 1-4 WAC) on Saturday at 3PM (MT). The game will be televised live on Altitude Sports (Comcast Ch. 61/Direct TV Ch. 681/Dish Network Ch. 410) and can also be seen live via the internet at ESPN3.com.

    USU basketball received three votes in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll to rank tied for 40th in the country along with Butler, George Mason, Harvard, Long Beach State and San Diego State.

    The Aggies are 1-1 on the season after losing at Weber State, 73-63 Tuesday. SUU is 3-1 on the season as it began the year with a 76-75 win against UC Davis, followed by a loss at San Diego State, 70-37, and a win over Bryant, 95-78. In its last game, SUU defeated Montana State-Billings at home Thursday, 63-60.

    USU is 5-0 all-time against SUU, which includes a 2-0 record at home, a 2-0 record in Cedar City and a 1-0 record in Salt Lake City. The last time the two teams played was on November 20, 2010 in Cedar City with the Aggies posting a 66-53 road win.

    Ken Beazer, SUU’s Athletics’ Director spent four years (2002-05) at Utah State as the Director of Development in the Athletics’ Department. USU assistant coach Tarvish Felton played at Southern Utah from 1996-99 and received all-Mid Continent Conference honors as a senior and ranks third all-time in school history in blocked shots (68), fifth all-time in steals (139) and seventh all-time in rebounds (505). Felton also coached at Southern Utah during the 1999-2000 and 2006-07 seasons.

    Freshman redshirt forward Ben Clifford’s brother, John, played basketball at Southern Utah during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons.
