Hurricane over Wasatch 42-7
Tigers’ quarterback Taylor Parker passed for 7-of-12 for 133 yards and threw two first-quarter touchdowns. The Tigers did not stray from their specialty though. Eleven Tigers rushed the ball 34 times for 291 yards.

Desert Hills over Park City 34-14
Quarterback Porter Harris went 10-of 16 for 148 yards and tossed three touchdowns and one interception. The Thunder offense showed great balance in the game by rushing for 161 yards and passing for 148. Deseret Hills defense limited their opponent to 3-of-15 on third down attempts.

ROUND TWO
Desert Hills over Stansbury 26-7
Stansbury averaged over 300 yards of rushing entering the contest, but Desert Hills’ defense held the Stallions to a mere 139. Nate Brinker and Porter Harris both saw action at quarterback combining for 12-of-21 passing for 126 and a touchdown apiece. Mike Needham supplied the ground game with his 133 yards on 20 rushes and two touchdowns. The defense held Stansbury to 2-of-11 third down attempts.

Hurricane over Grantsville 41-0
The Tigers’ offense was more conventional against the Cowboys. Their three-back attack of Brian Scott, Weston Yardley, and Adam Thompson piled up 273 of the team’s 313 total rushing yards. Weston Yardley had two interceptions, a 46-yard punt return, and scored three rushing touchdowns. Hurricane’s defense allowed 136 rushing yards and 73 passing yards.

Hurricane over Spanish Fork 38-35
Hurricane’s offense possessed the ball for 32 minutes (SF 15:47), rushed for 339 yards, converted 5-of-12 third down attempts and 2-for-2 on fourth downs. Brian Scott was tank-like, grinding away against the Dons’ defense for 220 yards on 36 carries and three touchdowns. Weston Yardley and Adam Thompson registered interceptions and Jared Edwards tallied 10 tackles.

Desert Hills over Cedar 23-21
Before starting quarterback Porter Harris went out of the game with an injury, he was 14-of-17 passing for 144 yards and one touchdown. Nate Brinker went into the game and held the standard by throwing two touchdowns from his 3-of-4 passing. Needham was solid as usual, rushing for 165 on 32 carries in providing the critical component to an offense that possessed the ball 33 minutes to Cedar’s 15. Bud Pope had three interceptions.
