  • Dixie State College Faculty Member Honored by American Institute of CPAs

    (St. George, UT) - Dixie State College Assistant Professor of Accounting Nate Staheli was honored by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the American Accounting Association at a recent conference.

    Staheli earned the “Honorable Mention” for the Bea Sanders/AICPA 2011 Teaching Innovation Award his submission entitled “The Farming Game© and the Introductory Financial Accounting Course: An Accounting Simulation.” In all, Staheli competed against 120 participants from a number of institutions.

    Staheli, who recently returned to DSC following a sabbatical to Hawaii to work on his Ph.D., has served as Assistant Professor of Accounting in the DSC Udvar-Hazy School of Business since 2002. He is a 1993 graduate of Dixie College and he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting from Southern Utah University in 1995 and 1996, respectively. Staheli is a licensed CPA and is DSC’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) faculty advisor.
