(Mesquite, NV) - Green Valley turned a touchdown halftime deficit into a comfortable double-digit win Thursday, traveling to Mesquite for a 41-22 victory against 3A Virgin Valley for its fifth straight win.

Aaron Love rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries to lead the Gators, who trailed 14-7 at halftime during their break from Southeast Division play.

“They are a good football team,” Green Valley coach Brian Castro said of Virgin Valley. “Who cares if they are a 3A team? They do well against 4A teams if you look at their record, and they are physical.”

Jacob Olim passed for 121 yards and a touchdown for Green Valley, throwing a 6-yard score to Elijah Spann. Sean Ferraro had a kickoff return for a touchdown and Kelvin Woods scored defensively with a fumble return for a touchdown.
