  • UPDATE: Lightning Caused Herbs Wildfire - 195-Acres Burned, 100-Percent Contained

    (Springdale, UT) The lightning caused Herbs Fire that has burned 195-acres (GPS confirmed) on Herbs Point, an isolated mesa top in the Kolob Canyons section of Zion National Park, east of I-15, approximately 15 miles south of Cedar City has been declared contained.

    The fire is in monitor status and will be checked daily by firefighters until it is declared out.

    Campsite #17 in LaVerkin Creek of Zion National park is closed for visitor safety. No other closures are in effect.
