(St. George, UT)- The Dixie Flyers girls kept their preseason undefeated Thursday night at Walt Brooks Stadium by dominating the Millard Eagles 6-1.

Junior mid-fielder Chandlie Stratton led the way for the Flyers with her two goals and senior Kenzie Cox registered two assists.

Dixie (3-0) sent the ball into Millards’ net four times in the first half and finished with another two goals in the final 40 minutes.

Whitney Stephens and Kelsey McCann combined goal-keeping duty for the victorious Flyers. Coach Burt Myers was happy with the effort by his team, but as most coaches are, he found something to critique.

“I was pretty impressed with the way we were combining balls and connecting passes,” Myers said. “I am concerned with our communication out on the field. We don’t always talk. We need to communicate more.”

The Flyers will get the chance to ‘communicate’ in a match today at Delta at 4 PM.

Other Flyers’ scorers were Aubri Challis, Britton Leavitt, Madi Jensen, and Nicole Thomas.

In other Region 9 action on Thursday, Cedar beat Waterford 2-0 and Pine View lost at West 5-2.
