    (Cedar City, UT) - The fire, dubbed the Wrangler wildfire on BLM administered lands has burned 8,481-acres and 100-percent contained.

    The lightning caused wildfire is located 15 miles north of Cedar City, 5 miles west of Minersville, Utah near Badger Peak.

    All dirt roads located on public lands surrounding the fire perimeter have been reopened. Most of these roads run parallel to Thermo Road west of Minersville. No major highways or travel corridors were closed.

    There were no evacuations and no structures threatened. The fire burned cheatgrass, mixed brush, and scattered pinyon and juniper trees. One minor injury has been reported (muscle strain).

    Agency resources used to fight the fire were from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), National Park Service, US Forest Service, Dixie National Forest, Bureau of Indian Affairs and local municipal fire departments from Brian Head, Cedar City and Santa Clara Fire Departments.
