    (St. George, UT) - The 2011 St. George Family History Expo at the Dixie Center, 1835 Convention Center Drive, St. George, Utah, Friday and Saturday, February 25-26, will feature noted speaker, writer and researcher Michael John Neill most prominently recognized for his association with the popular Casefile Clues periodical that introduces family history researchers to a different genealogical cast study each week.

    Neill is a Blogger of Honor for the St. George Family History Expo. He writes a Casefile Clues Blog, as well as a RootDig.com and Genealogy Tip of the Day. Participants in the St. George Family History Expo can enjoy Michael speak in several sessions:

    Friday, February 25 at 3:00PM – Land Records (Public Land States) – Beginner Level

    This lecture discusses the basics of how land is described in public land states, and effective search strategies for records in these localities including a discussion of basic terminology. Intended for the researcher with little or no experience in land records.

    Friday, February 26 at 4:30 PM – Land Records (Public Land States) – Experienced Level

    This lecture discusses search strategies via example for land records in public land states. Geared toward attendees who are already familiar with basic land terminology and deed terms.

    Saturday, February 26 at 1:00 PM – Research on Tight Budget – (All Levels)

    This lecture discusses no-cost and low-cost ways to expand your genealogical research. Mention is also made of those times when “free” and “low-cost” is not possible.

    Saturday, February 26 at 2:30 PM – Newspaper Research – (All Levels)

    The Friday night St. George Family History Expo banquet and presentation will feature M. Bridget Cook, transformational speaker and national best-selling author, who will share hair-raising, yet healing stories from her works that have been featured on Oprah and gained incredible international exposure in the last 12 months. She will also provide valuable tips and insightful techniques for handling, and truly even healing, the skeletons in your family history.
