“A Celebration of the Century – A Dixie Showcase” will honor the 100 years of performance and the arts at Dixie, featuring performances by current DSC students and Dixie alumni, including members of the Dixie College Program Bureau, which was under the direction of the late Roene DiFiore. The “Showcase” will also serve as a great way for Dixie’s northern Utah alumni and friends to reconnect and join in the Centennial Celebration.
Among the student ensembles performing at the “Showcase” are the DSC Symphony Orchestra; the DSC Concert, Chamber and Women’s Choirs; DSC’s Ragin’ Red Show Choir; DSC Concert and Jazz Bands; along with special performances by DSC’s Theatre Department and DSC Dance Company.
“This event is going to be a wonderful tribute to the students and history of Dixie,” says show director and DSC Dean of Students Del Beatty. “Showcasing our current students and alumni – it is bound to be an enjoyable evening of entertainment for everyone and similar to the Dixie events of the early 1990’s that were held in Salt Lake City at Abravanel Hall.”
