Fans will get an opportunity to see a full scrimmage game as the team splits into two squads for the competition. There is no charge and the public is encouraged to attend.
The SUU men's basketball team has been picked to finish in ninth place this season, according to the annual Summit League pre-season poll.
The poll of coaches and media who cover the league voted Oakland University as a near-unanimous choice to defend its title. The Golden Grizzlies received 29 of 34 first-place votes and 504 points overall, while Oral Roberts was second with three first place votes and 455 points. IUPUI was picked to finish third with the remaining two first place votes and 423 points.
North Dakota State was picked in fourth place, with 315 points, followed by South Dakota State (296), IPFW (284) and Western Illinois (232). UMKC edged SUU for eighth place by 10 points, 177-167, while Centenary, which is in its final season as a member of the league, finished 10th with 87 points.
Reigning Summit League Player of the Year Keith Benson, a senior center from Oakland, was selected as the pre-season player of the year. He was joined on the pre-season all-league first team by Western Illinois guard Ceola Clark, Oral Roberts forwards Michael Craion and Dominique Morrison, North Dakota State forward Michael Tveidt and IUPUI forward Alex Young.
