SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City Mission’s next outreach event is Easter, where they plan to serve thousands of meals at Pioneer Park. The Mission needs your support to feed the large number of guests that will attend Easter in the Park.
A meal with all the trimmings along with music, face painting and balloons for children, and an Easter message will make it an eventful day. Free clothing and hygiene kits will also be distributed for all those in need.
“We expect more people than ever to come this year” said Pastor Wayne Wilson Executive Director of Salt Lake City Mission. “This year we are seeing many more individuals in need of our services.”
The Salt Lake City Mission feeds hungry men, women, and children every day. Our hot meals are the primary reason people come to the Mission for help. We introduce them to life changing services, programs, & the power that will transform their life. Please contact the Mission and host a food or clothing drive.
To help support outreach programs, the Mission continues the Fight Poverty Initiative. Through this initiative, you can direct people to Mission services by giving a meal card instead of money to the hundreds of panhandlers we see every day. This initiative also functions as a fundraiser for local community groups to raise money for their projects. Last year, Salt Lake City Mission provided over 450,000 meals locally.
Food donations can be dropped off at the Salt Lake City Mission located at 1151 South Redwood Road, Suite 106. Sign up to volunteer this Easter on www.saltlakecitymission.org To learn more about the Fight Poverty Initiative or donate, visit www.gofundme.com/fightpovertyslc or call 801.355.6310
