  • The West Mountain Fire

    (Washington County, UT) - The West Mountain Fire started on Wednesday, August 4th around 7:45pm and is now approximately 2, 014 acres and is Zero percent containted. This fire is a result of multiple fires burning together, creating the West Mountain Wildfire in steep and rocky terrain. Fire conditions have moderated with some hot spots that are visible. No closures or evacuations have been reported. Utah Hill radio towers are the structures nearest the fire and have not been threatened at this time. Fire crews and resources include 9 Fire Engines, 1 Water Tender, 1 Hand Crew, 2 Squads, 1 Air Attack Platform, 1 Type III Helicopter, 1 Type II Helicopter, 1 Type I Helicopter, and Various Overhead. Approximately 95 personnel are assigned to the fire.
