(St. George, UT) – Zach Robbins showed little ill-effects from serving a two-year mission by posting a double-double in his Red Storm return while returned Dalton Groskreutz paced Dixie State in scoring in Thursday’s 91-56 exhibition victory of Division-III Bethesda (CA) at the Burns Arena.

The sophomore from Upland, Calif., scored 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting and pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds in 21 minutes of action.

“Zach played great tonight,” said Dixie State head coach Jon Judkins. “We won’t need that every night from him, but it was nice to see him play hard in his first game in two years.”

Groskreutz was spectacular as well on both sides of the court. He hit six shots, including a pair of three-pointers, en route to 17 points. Joining the group in double figures with 11 points wereSteven Larson, making the start at power forward, and reserve guard Robbie Nielson.

Guards Kimball Payne and McKay Massey each dished off seven assists as the Storm compiled 27 dimes on 28 made shots.

Dixie State shot as a club 58.3-percent in the first half to lead over the Flames, 48-31 at the half. DSC continues the sharp shooting over the final twenty minutes (51.5 percent) while holding Bethesda to 8-of-29 from the floor over the same time.

Vincent Turner led the Flames with 19 points while Alan Marsh added 16 points.

Dixie State continues exhibition play on Wednesday against the nationally ranked Rebels of UNLV. Tip off from the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas is set for 8 p.m. Mountain.
