Robinson wasted no time with a first minute goal past Tyler Walters. He added a second point in the 23rd minute from 15 yards out.
The Red Storm (5-7-2, 4-4-2 PWC) overcame a 2-0 halftime deficit with a pair of goals a minute and twenty-five second apart. Eric Christensen tallied his first goal of the year on a penalty kick – after a Grand Canyon (12-2, 9-1 PWC) defender committed a handball in the goalie box.
A few short seconds later, Garrett Garciadeposited a beautiful pass from Tyler Albretsen to the right post to even up the match.
Dixie State was the aggressors in the second half, outshooting GCU 10 to three and for the match, 14-13.
Schallenberger led all DSC players with four shots. Walters made six saves in goal.
Dixie State faces a rematch with the Lopes on Saturday in Phoenix. The match is set to begin at 6:45 p.m.
