(St. George, UT) - Color Country Inter-agency firefighters have stopped the forward progression of the lightning caused Old Gold Mine (OMG) fire started Saturday evening about 5:30 PM on Bureau of Land Management administered land and Shivwits Indian Reservation land west of St. George, Utah. Approximately 2,710-acres were burned
Forward progression has been stopped, smoldering and creeping fueled by cheat grass and brush is being observed. The OMG fire is 100-percent contained. There are no evacuations or closures in effect.
Color Country fire resources deployed on the OMG Fire include: 1 Crew, 4 Fire Engines, and 7 Smoke Jumpers remain on the fire.
