(St. George, UT) - Dixie State College of Utah Athletic Director Jason Boothe announced Tuesday Gregg Jensen has been dismissed as head women’s volleyball coach. The Red Storm were 15-9 overall and 10-6 in PacWest play. Dixie State College concluded its third consecutive winning season at Grand Canyon Saturday.

“We are thankful for the years of service Gregg has provided to Dixie State Volleyball and for getting this program to where it is today. We wish him well”, said Boothe. Boothe said that a national search to find a new head women’s volleyball coach would begin immediately.

Jensen was officially named the head coach for women's volleyball October 28, 2008 by then DSC Athletic Director Dexter Irvin. He had been an assistant coach for the previous five seasons before be named the interim head coach eight matches into the 2008 season, when first-year head coach Jason Stout was relieved of his coaching duties. Stout had led DSC to a 3-5 overall record through the first eight matches of the 2008 campaign.

With Jensen at the helm, DSC played to a 10-7 overall record, including a season-ending five-match winning streak, to close out the year at 13-12, the program’s first winning season at the NCAA Division II level.
