(St. George, UT) - Allied Waste, a Republic Services company, is excited to bring curbside recycling to Washington County! We can now all do our part to be environmentally friendly. Our easy to use program enables residents to recycle 70% of their “trash” in a very simple, inexpensive way. It’s also a great way to teach your children how to make a positive impact on our planet. When you sign up for our program, you receive a blue recycling can. It is the same size and look of a regular trash can and ALL your recyclables can be co-mingled into one can! Yes! Co-mingled! This means no sorting or storing several different containers! You simply put your blue can on the curb with your trash can, every other week, and our recycling truck will come and pick it up! The cost is $6.00 per month and you are billed quarterly. We accept plastics with a number 1-7 on them, paper, metal, tin, and cardboard. Junk mail, cereal boxes, soup cans, yogurt cups, milk jugs, water bottles, plastic packaging, zip-lock bags, and soda cans are just a few examples of what can go in your recycling can. Signing up is just as easy. Go to www.stgeorge.biz/recycle, fill out the form, and click submit and it’s done! A cool blue can will be delivered to your house within a few days! You can also call Allied Waste at 435.628.2821 or Karen Jorgensen, Recycling Sales Rep, at 435.215.3089 to sign up as well. Any way you look at it, Allied Waste has made recycling a mainstream, easy, functional, cost-effective, and ethical thing to do. We know you’ll be blown away when you see how much of your “trash” really isn’t trash at all! Do you blue? YES!
