  • “Great Faiths” Series with Special Thursday Presentation on Islam Oct. 18th

    (St. George, UT) – Dixie State College’s weekly noontime “Dixie Forum: A Window on the World” convocation series continues its new “Great Faiths” discussions with a special Thursday presentation on Islam by Dr. Aslam Abdullah on Oct. 18th. The Forum will begin at 12 noon, in the Dunford Auditorium of the Browning Resource Center on the DSC campus. Admission is free for all community members, DSC students, and faculty and staff.

    Dr. Abdullah currently serves as director of the Islamic Society of Nevada, and also edits the largest Muslim weekly in English published out of Detroit, Mich., The Muslim Observer. He has authored 17 books on issues related with Islam, interfaith dialogue and human rights. Dr. Abdullah has taught Islam at various universities and colleges around the world including the United States, and authors an online blog on contemporary Islamic issues at aslamabdullah.blogspot.com.

    The weekly Dixie Forum series will return to its regular Tuesday schedule on Oct. 23rd, as Forum director and DSC Assistant Professor of History Dr. Joel A. Lewis presents the fourth “Great Faiths” series discussion of the semester on Atheism.
