Hurricane, Utah– Stunning sandstone landscapes and awe-inspiring mountain views await tourists and local athletes alike at the 9th Annual Kokopelli Triathlon slated for Sept. 9 at 7 a.m. at Sand Hollow State Park.
“The event can be labeled an endurance festival,” said Cedric Keppler, CEO and Race Director of BBSC Endurance Sports. “Not only does it attract athletes from surrounding states, but it also brings together the local community for one amazing day at Sand Hollow State Park.”
The Kokopelli Triathlon is a family-friendly event, which includes an Olympic and Sprint Triathlon, Duathlon, Kids Tri, and 5K/10K Run. The event is expected to attract approximately 700 athletes, with nearly 85 percent from outside Washington County, Keppler said.
Packet pickup begins Friday and will go from 3 pm. to 7:30 p.m. at the Hurricane Community Center (63 South 100 West). Race-day packet pickup will be in the Sand Hollow parking lot near the finish line area. Those who choose race-day pickup are charged an additional $10.
