    (IRVINE, Calif.) – After a landmark season, the Dixie State women's volleyball team is out to make noise in the Pacific West Conference after being selected for a fourth-place finish by the league's coaches.

    The Red Storm earned 125 points from the coaches, slotted behind No. 1 finisher Point Loma's 160 with five first place votes. BYU-Hawaii was just edged out for top marks and slid to second with 155 points, despite picking up seven first place marks. Cal Baptist was just ahead of Dixie State with 138 points. Hawaii Pacific and Fresno Pacific tied for the No. 5 spot with 109 points apiece, though Fresno Pacific garnered one first place vote.

    Last year, Dixie State finished with a 17-10 overall record, including a 14-6 mark in PacWest play. After finishing third in conference, the Red Storm was selected to the NCAA West Regional Tournament, marking the first NCAA postseason appearance for the team. Head coach Robyn Felder was named the PacWest Coach of the Year.

    BYU-Hawaii's Shih Ting Chen was named Preseason PacWest Preseason Player of the Year. Point Loma's Savannah Wedemeyer named PacWest Preseason Setter of the Year. Fresno Pacific's Hannah Butler was predicted to repeat as PacWest Libero of the Year. BYU-Hawaii's Mona Ah-Hoy was named PacWest Preseason Coach of the Year.
