(ST. GEORGE, Utah) - Becker’s Hospital Review, a national healthcare review journal, recently named Dixie Regional Medical Center to their list of 47 hospitals with the lowest 30-day heart failure readmission rates in the nation.

The list was selected based on data taken from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Hospital Compare website. Lancaster General Hospital (in Pennsylvania) finished with the lowest rate of readmissions – 17.1 percent. Dixie Regional’s rate is 18.3 percent. According to the Hospital Compare website, the national average 30-day heart failure readmission rate is 23 percent.

Two other Intermountain hospitals, McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden and Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City, also made the list. No other Utah hospitals were included.
