“Walk Washington County is a great way for you to get your exercise, enjoy beautiful southern Utah, meet local mayors and learn area history,” said Heidi Lemke, the representative from Healthy Dixie who is coordinating the 2014 walks. “We are excited to hear Mayor Lee Bracken share interesting information about Enterprise as well as the city’s history with us on Saturday while he leads the walk.”
Attendees should dress for walking, bring any gear needed and water to the starting point at 80 South Center Street. “We’ll gather at the pavilion behind the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” said Lemke. “There is no charge to join in the fun, and we encourage everyone to come out for a great time at the walk and Corn Festival.”
The Enterprise walk is the first of three Walk Washington County events taking place in August and September. Mayor John Bramall will lead Walk Washington County – Hurricane at 9 a.m. on August 30 to kick off Peach Days; the walk begins at the Hurricane Community Center. Walk Washington County – Leeds opens Wild West Days and will be held on Sept. 6 at 9 a.m., led by Mayor Wayne Peterson. This walk begins at the Leeds Town Hall, 218 N. Main, Leeds.
Walk Washington County began in 2013 as part of Dixie Regional Medical Center’s 100th Anniversary. Healthy Dixie is pleased to continue this healthy event. For more information call (435) 703-4746.
