He joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 in the year of July 1966. He was in active duty in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968: after Vietnam, he was stationed in 29 Palms, California where he was a military policeman.
On August 31, 1968, he married his sweetheart Trudy Dawn Christensen. They were married in Las Vegas, Nevada when he was on a 36 hour leave from the Marines. Their first child was born December 29, 1968; his name was Andrew K Carter. He passed away only a couple days later on December 31, 1968. Then they had their second child Chelese Anne Carter she was born on December 6, 1969. Their third child was Joey Don Carter born on May 1, 1980.
Randy was a very hard worker; he was a carpenter and hung sheet rock for 17 years. Then he changed professions and became a marine mechanic for years until he retired.
Randy loved to be with his family. He loved camping, fishing, boating, and watching motorsports. A few of his favorite things to do was to visit his daughter and family in Las Vegas and while in Las Vegas he loved to go to the NHRA drag races and to NASCAR. He also loved to attend the SEMA show. He did a lot of these things with his son Joey and grandson Cayden.
His funeral services will be Thursday July 3, 2014 at the Pine View Mortuary. The viewing will be from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Then from 11:00 to 12:00 pm at the Washington City Cemetery there will be a graveside service.
