(CEDAR CITY, Utah) - (+VIDEO) If you need a getaway with some great laughs, join the Neil Simon Festival for its Preview Night Benefit, July 9. All proceeds go to local charities, and it provides an evening to get a glimpse of the 2014 performances to be showcased during the summer season at the festival.

Neil Simon is one of America's most treasured playwrights, and the Cedar City Neil Simon Festival is a place to sample his entertaining plays. "The Star-Spangled Girl", and "Laughter on the 23rd Floor" will be featured along with a two-person performance of another comedy, called "Greater Tuna." There will also be two musicals, "Nunsense", and the family-friendly, "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown".

Peter Sham, Neil Simon Festival actor, believes Neil Simon is one the greatest American Playwrights. "His plays are not only funny but they touch a chord; they have wonderful emotional impact as well," Sham said. "Anything that's really funny, has a lot of drama underneath--that's what makes it funny. Neil Simon writes a great balance."

Look for Sham's performance in "Laughter on the 23rd Floor" this summer.
