(BERYL, Utah) - During the early morning hours of July 1, 2014, Iron County Sheriff deputies were called to report of a fatal accident involving a 48-year-old female identified as Carol Sager; resident of Beryl Utah. Sager reportedly left her home the day before and was en route to check the community mailbox located just a few miles away from her home, but did not return home. Family members along with Iron County Sheriff deputies begin searching for Sager throughout the night, but were unsuccessful in locating her or her vehicle.
At approximately 5:57 early this morning, Cedar Communications received a 911 call from a member of Carol’s family reporting that they had located the vehicle. During the initial scene investigation it was determined Carol’s vehicle was driving westbound on 5600 North when it left the dirt roadway, drove off into a vacant sagebrush field, and rolled over several times. It appeared Carol was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected. At this time it doesn’t appear alcohol or drugs were factor in this incident, however the crash is still being investigated.
Seger died at the scene.
