Lowell Dean Palmer was born at home on September 22, 1923 in Garfield, Utah, to Sara Alice Davis and James Pendleton Palmer; his elder siblings were Floyd, Virginia, Margaret and Lois.

He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy.

    He married Loretta Elaine Alley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine and daughter, Jeanne.

He was supported on his journey and is survived by Terrie, Joanna (Ray) Healey, Don (Pam), Kristin; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He trailer-travelled the US and neighbors north & south with family and friends. He enjoyed motorcycling, rock-hounding, lapidary work and could fix anything around the house. At 69 he finally made it to Alaska. Through his life, he offered his hand to many who needed help; and blessed his children with a strong work ethic, appreciation for all things musical, and the value of true honesty and real friendship.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.

A viewing will be held from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. in the Valley View Mortuary, prior to services.
