(SOUTHERN, Utah) – Preliminary results of Tuesday’s primary elections showed that only 18.25 percent of voters in Iron County turned out to the poles, and only 17.45 percent showed up to voice their opinion by voting in Washington County.

Though the results are not finalized, officials say the numbers are still a fair representation of voter turnout as a whole. The final numbers will not be released until both counties have finished their canvasing to include additional votes that were done early or by absentee ballot.

The current results are as follows:

    Washington County

    Senate District 28

    Casey O. Anderson 1406 (47.48 percent)

    Evan J. Vickers 1555 (52.52 percent)

Nathan Gregg Caplin 4976 (44.76 percent)

    Brock Belnap 6142 (55.24 percent)

    David B. Stirland 930 (56.09 percent)
