Utah State Office of Education will be in Cedar City on June 25 to take public comment on the state’s Core Standards for Library Media
(SALT LAKE CITY, Utah) - Staff from the Utah State Office of Education will be available in Cedar City on June 25 to answer questions and take public comment on the proposed update to the state’s Core Standards for Library Media. The Core Standards for Library Media have been under review and revision throughout the 2013-14 school year. On May 9, the Utah State Board of Education approved the revised Standards for public comment. This public comment period will last for 90 days, from May 19 until August 17. After the comments are reviewed, the comments will be summarized, appropriate changes made, and a presentation made to the Board.
Staff from the state office will be available to discuss questions and take comments about the proposed standards from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., June 25 at the Canyon View Middle School library, 1865 N Main St., Cedar City.
