    New Mesquite Fire Chief Kash Christopher
    (MESQUITE, Nev.) - Mesquite Fire Rescue would like to welcome new Fire Chief Kash Christopher. Chief Christopher is in his 28th year of Fire Protection. He is a Veteran of the United States Air Force where he spent 22 years assigned to numerous bases to include: RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom; Goodfellow AFB, Texas; Kunsan Air Base, South Korea; and Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras. He retired in 2008 from Nellis AFB, Nevada. Since then, he has been the Fire Chief at: Hato Airfield, Curacao; Baghdad Fire and Emergency Services, Iraq; and Bagram Airfield Fire and Emergency Services, Afghanistan, which is the busiest single runway airfield in the world. He looks forward to the opportunities that Mesquite Fire Rescue will bring him and is also very happy that he hasn't had a missile attack since returning home from Afghanistan. Chief Christopher has been married to Elena Pineda of Tegucigalpa, Honduras for the past 8 years. He also has 3 children (Helena, Kash Jr. and Brittany) and 3 grandchildren.
