With more than 20 years experience working in corporate and agency communications, founder Melynda Thorpe is dedicated to offering an intelligent approach to marketing strategy. Formerly, Thorpe served on the Utah Valley University Rebranding Image Committee, Utah Ballet Board of Directors, and the Springville Museum of Art Board of Directors. At Utah Valley University, she served as director of publications and creative services and was editor of UVU Magazine from 1997-2007. Additionally, she served as UVU spokesperson and crisis response media coordinator.
Since moving to southern Utah in 2007, Thorpe has managed communications strategies for southern Utah events including Kayenta Street Painting Festival, Art in Kayenta Festival, DOCUTAH International Film Festival, Equality Utah Celebration, Heart Walk Foundation Gala, Tuacahn Saturday Market, and The Great Big Barn Party (Big Brothers Big Sisters). A former lobbyist, campaign strategist, communications consultant, and director of public relations and creative services at TCS Advertising & Public Relations, Thorpe’s southern Utah clients have included Desert Solace pornography addiction residential treatment center, Squatty Potty, and St. George News.
From Thorpe’s experience working as a filmmaker, TV producer and magazine editor, her marketing approach is distinguished by the use of powerful storytelling and creative team building. Emceesquare Creative Producer Elise West brings a wealth of experience in management, event coordination and public relations. West was public relations and marketing specialist at IKEA (Draper, Utah), manager of inflight recruitment and event services at SkyWest Airlines, recruiter for Southwest Airlines, and Morris Magic Manager for Morris Air. West also works as seasonal merchandise store manager at Sundance Film Festival. Most recently, West was a creative project manager at Café Soleil in Springdale, Utah, where she managed special events, projects, and an efficiency remodel.
From Phoenix, Ariz., Advertising Manager and Creative Director Keith R Owen brings to Emceesquare experience in both sales and advertising production. Formerly, Owen worked as a specialist in sales and customer service at Apple Inc., Las Vegas. As a graduate of the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences, Gilbert, Ariz., he has worked in radio, television and film production, and as recording engineer/producer at Platinum Sound Lab.
