(CEDAR CITY, Utah) - On June 2 at 7pm the Cedar City Art Council will host its spring Networking Social in meeting room 7 of the Heritage Center. Join the council to celebrate the arts in Cedar City and connect with the varied and talented artists living and working in the area. Afterward, experience the grand opening of Art Walk, a collaboration of local artists and businesses. Easiest access is via the 2nd level of the parking terrace. The networking social is free and the public is invited..

“Our networking socials offer Iron County residents the opportunity to meet the Arts Council board members and discuss past and upcoming events, along with enjoying fabulous art by local artists of all genres,” explains Socials Co-Chair, Denise Purvis. The June event will feature presentations by recipients of CCAC’s bi-annual mini-grants. Alexandria Wall-Staheli of Shifting Velocity Dance Company will perform a selection of Denise Purvis’ Journey On, a dance that explores loss, acceptance, and moving on. Also presenting their work are the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, as well as water color artists Larry Laskowski and Megan Nelson.

In addition to experiencing engaging art, attendees will enjoy food provided by the Pastry Pub while they socialize and connect with gifted artists and supporters of the arts. Afterwards, Arts Council board members will share exciting upcoming events and answer questions about the many ways Iron County residents can become more involved in the arts.
