    Orson Wallace Ball,
    Orson Wallace Ball,
(HURRICANE, Utah) – On May 9, 2014, Orson Wallace Ball, husband, father, and grandfather passed on to his reward. He died of complications brought on by battling with health issues over a long period of time which he bore graciously. He was born on June 22, 1938 to Wallace and Della Ball at Lewisville, ID. He was their second child and first son.

He was raised to be a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He took his priesthood responsibilities seriously and showed it by having perfect attendance for seven years in the youth priesthood program.

He graduated from Rigby High School in Idaho and went on to Ricks College. He served a mission for the Church to Western Canada. After returning from his mission, he went to BYU in Provo, Utah from which he graduated in 1967 with a degree in accounting. While attending BYU, he met Norean Erickson and they married June 2, 1965 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Upon graduation, he took a position with the government as a civilian auditor for the United States Air Force. He faithfully worked there for 31 years and became a Certified Public Accountant along the way. He was able to work in many places around the world. He retired in 1999.

After his wife, Norean, retired in 2004, they were called to serve in the Florida, Ft. Lauderdale Mission. They were to be a support to a small Branch in Marathon, Florida for 2 years. He grew to love the people there and served faithfully. One of his last experiences was to return to the branch and enjoy a day visiting with the members he loved so much.

After their mission, they returned to their home in Hurricane, Utah where they have lived for the last seven years. His service to the church included many priesthood responsibilities. He served as various clerks, counselors, bishop and high counselors in many different stakes along with many other callings. His favorite calling was serving with the youth in the scouting program. He spent over thirty years in the program receiving many awards in the church and the community for his service. His four sons received their eagle awards as did many other young men under his tutelage.

He is survived by his wife, Norean, six children; Bryce, Alan, Stefnie, Darin, Nathan and Tifny; fourteen grandchildren; as well as his sister, Leola; and his brother Bruce.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane LDS 11th Ward Chapel, 452 North 2600 West, Hurricane, Utah. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22nd at 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be on Friday May 23, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in Lewisville, Idaho beside his parents. “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”
