(CEDAR CITY, Utah) - The Cedar City Arts Council ("CCAC") has re-invented itself. This reinvigorated version of CCAC emphasizes advocacy and support for the many talented creative artists in Cedar City. The cornerstones of CCAC’s support are its artist grant awards. Grants of up to $500 are awarded semi-annually (twice per year) to individuals and groups to support creative projects in the visual, performing, and literary arts. CCAC actively promotes community arts organizations and provides educational arts opportunities for children and adults.

CCAC is currently working to grow its membership base. Your membership means that local artists will have the resources that they need to keep Cedar City growing as a thriving arts community. Please become a member for only $10 for students, $25 for individuals, $35 for families, and $50 for businesses and non-profit organizations.

Currently, CCAC is able to award up to a total of $3,000 per year through its artist grants. Your membership means increases in both the amounts awarded and the number of grants given to artists. Though inexpensive, memberships in CCAC are essential in funding these artist grants; they are also a terrific way to express your support for Cedar City's arts and culture landscape. Please visit www.cedarcityartscouncil.or/memberhip for more information.

Recently awarded grants helped fund children's music education through Suzuki Strings, writing, guitar and watercolor conferences, as well as the free, online percussion lessons conducted by Cedar City's renown percussionist, Lynn Vartan. Additionally, membership includes free admission into CCAC's new Professional Development Education Series, and a subscription to the CCAC e-newsletter, which will help you stay in tune with the many exciting arts events that Cedar City has to offer.

Cedar City Arts Council is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the arts in Iron County. The mission is to foster a thriving arts community in Iron County through advocacy, appreciation, education, and support. CCAC is completely volunteer-run, all of the funds CCAC receives through donations or memberships are used to help the arts thrive in this community.
