(ST. GEORGE, Utah) - Dixie State University announced Tuesday that it has received a $30,000 Daniels Fund grant to support needs-based scholarships at DSU. The scholarship monies will provide “Boundless Opportunity Scholarships” to non-traditional students from all walks of life.

“Boundless Opportunity Scholarships” help highly-motivated students achieve their goals by providing financial assistance toward a better education, and a better life for themselves and their families.

“Funding needs-based scholarships continues to be a priority here at Dixie State University,” said Brad Last, DSU vice president of development. “Providing opportunities to all students to reach their goals and dreams of a college education has been the hallmark of Dixie State’s mission. We are grateful to the Daniels Fund for its generosity and we value the relationship Dixie State has with the organization.”

The need-based scholarships funded by this grant target candidates from specific student populations, including adult learners, GED recipients, foster care youth, juvenile justice youth, returning military personnel, individuals pursuing EMT/paramedic training and individuals pursuing Early Childhood Education certification.

“Boundless Opportunity Scholarships are intended to benefit non-traditional students seeking the economic and social benefits of a college education,” explained Linda Childears, president and CEO of the Daniels Fund.

Potential students wishing to receive more information or to apply for financial assistance provided by the Daniels Fund grant should contact Sue Perschon in the DSU Financial Aid office at 435-652-7578 or at sperschon@dixie.edu.
