(SALT LAKE CITY, Utah) - Several issues drew huge attention during the 2014 legislative session, but few as defiantly as bills pertaining to the rights of victims of abuse and sexual trauma. Bills authored by Democratic Representatives Seelig, Romero and Poulson will be signed by Governor Gary Herbert today, prioritizing the state's commitment to protecting Utahns everywhere.

House Minority Leader Jennifer Seelig said, "We are making Utah safer by ensuring punishments go to criminals, not to victims. Joining with state and local agencies, we are working together to tackle the problems we have seen develop in recent years."
