(IVINS, Utah) - Rock out to the musical talent of Prime Time on Saturday, May 24th at the Kayenta Outdoor Theatre in Ivins! Five veteran singer/musicians will entertain concertgoers with cover tunes from the 60’s & 70’s, as well as a few original songs. If you’re a fan of Van Morrison, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Zombies, The Eagles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Doors and more from that legendary era, you’re in for a rock n’ roll night to remember! The Eagles’ “Tequilla Sunrise,” “Stormy” by Santana and Roy Orbison’s “Pretty Woman” are just a few of the classic hits you’ll hear performed under the Kayenta stars.

Prime Time’s band includes Roy Beard, Michael Dahn, Franky Dee, Drew Millerberg and Dennis Prestwich. The band itself may be new, but over the years each artist has had his own individual success in the music industry, earning respect from both fans and peers alike. All the band members are now residents of Southern Utah, so it seemed a natural for them to join forces, combine their many years of professional musical experience, and share that talent with our local audiences.

Garry Morris, Kayenta Arts Foundation’s Co-Artistic Director is excited to book Prime Time for the Outdoor Theatre: “There’s a huge audience in Southern Utah for music from that era, and it’s an audience that is underserved at the moment. We have this new band here, with incredible musicians and vocalists who have years of national and international experience as professional singer/musicians. Why wouldn’t we want to share their talents with our local audiences? It’s a win win situation for everyone.”

Kayenta Arts Foundation is encouraging patrons to bring a picnic along to the Prime Time concert. Tables and chairs will be set up for everyone to sit back, eat, relax, and enjoy the music under the night stars of Kayenta’s Outdoor Theatre!

Kayenta Arts Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt charitable organization. The Prime Time concert is supported in part by Utah Arts & Museums, with funding from the State of Utah and the National Endowment for the Arts. All proceeds from the event go toward the Building Fund for the new Kayenta Center for the Arts.

    Roy Beard, Guitar & Vocals

Over the years, Roy has played with classic rock bands Raven, Raw Honey, Band Of Outsiders, and many others. He credits guitar greats Carlos Santana, Billy Gibbons, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, and Dicky Betts as his musical inspiration. Roy likens guitar playing to therapy and is a firm believer that “music is healing to the soul.”

    Michael Dahn, Vocals & Songwriter

In 2003 Mike, as contestant in the Colgate Country Showdown, was awarded best Utah State Champion vocalist, and represented Utah in the Western States Championship as well. Mike is an avid songwriter whose original material has played on radio stations throughout the Western U.S.

    Franky Dee, Percussion & Vocals

Franky has had an exciting career thus far, having played with musical giants Ella Fitzgerald, George Benson, and Stevie Wonder to name but a few. Over the years, he has garnered four gold records, and his musical talent can also be heard as percussionist on many of the Beach Blanket movie soundtracks from the 60′s. Yes, the ones with Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon!

    Drew Millerberg, Bass & Vocals

Drew was born in San Francisco and grew up in the Bay Area. During his career as a musician, he has had the opportunity to tour both throughout the U.S. and internationally. He has appeared on television, played ten thousand seat concert stadiums, and has spent hundreds of session hours in recording studios. His greatest thrill to date, though, was opening for Ray Charles on tour in Japan.

    Dennis Prestwich, Keyboards & Vocals

Dennis, a northern Utah native, started playing keyboards for local bands while still in high school. As an adult, he toured much of the Western U.S. as the opening act and/or playing backup for bands Steppenwolf and The Ventures, among others.
