(BRIGHAM CITY, Utah) - Brigham CityGolden Spike National Historic Site announces National Parks Week celebrating the theme, “Go Wild,” National Park Week will run from Saturday, April 19th, through Saturday, April 26th. Parks will mark the annual celebration with special events and activities, including Volunteer Week, and Junior Ranger Day on April 26th. Throughout the country, visitors can enjoy the beauty and wonder of 84 million acres of the world’s most spectacular scenery, historic places and cultural treasures for free.

April 26th is Jr. Ranger Day and starts at 10:00 am with opportunities to ride the site’s period handcar, which will be operating throughout the day until 3:30 PM. Children and adults can also complete the site’s Junior Ranger or Junior Fireman programs, while on site.

Visitors are recommended to take the opportunity to walk or drive the historic grades and discover some of the unique history that causes visitors to “Go Wild” about our site.

Be prepared, weather can change drastically at Golden Spike this time of year. We suggest layering clothes, wearing a hat, sunscreen, and bring snacks/sandwiches and water as the park does not have concessions.
