(ST GEORGE, Utah) - Janice Roundy, 90, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014 in St. George, Utah.

She was born in Sacramento, California on February 22, 1924, the only child of Gustav and Cathryn Steinbrenner. She moved to Reno, Nevada with her parents in 1927 and lived in Reno until 1971. Janice loved music and learned to play the baritone and French horn in the Reno High School marching band. She also played the violin. She graduated from Reno High School in 1941, then attended the University of Nevada Reno until her father volunteered to serve in the Naval Seabee’s during WWII, when she had to go to work to help support her mother. She worked for 29 years as a legal secretary and transcriptionist.

Janice joined the LDS Church in her early 20's and later met her husband, Milton Roundy, at a church meeting in Reno. They had a whirlwind courtship and married on June 11, 1947, 6 weeks after they met. At the time of her passing they had been married almost 67 years.

After retirement, Janice and Milton, moved to St. George so they would be close to the Temple where they served faithfully for over 25 years. Janice was also very actively involved in indexing and genealogy work. As technology advanced, so did Janice in her use of her computer, I-pod, and Kindle to allow her easier access to the scriptures and to stay in contact with her family.

Janice and Milton were called on a mission to San Diego, California where they served in the mission office. Both have served faithfully in the LDS Church in many capacities throughout their lives, including singing in their ward and stake church choirs.

Janice is survived by her husband, Milton, her six children: Jerry (wife Ellen), Bruce (wife Virginia), Debbie (husband Dan), Janny, Kathy, Tammy; 15 grandchildren, 14 living; 39 great-grandchildren, 37 living.
