(LA VERKIN, Utah) Our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Bratten G. Ennis II (Jay Ennis), passed away Sunday, March 30th, 2014 in La Verkin, Utah surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jay was born February 15, 1943 to Bratten G. and Pearl Ennis in Wilmington, Delaware. He was the youngest of three children.

He married Norma N. Guedea on November 28, 1966 in San Antonio, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Norma, his daughter Kim (Shay) Thompson, his son, Jason (Shellie) Ennis, his sister Gladys Davis, grandkids, Trevor and Chayse Thompson, Austyn and Hayley Ennis, and his Doberman (Shylo), who protected him and stayed by his side at all times.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Myrtle Nace and step-mother, Gladys Ennis.

Jay was an avid hunter and loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He really enjoyed collecting guns and teaching his kids and grandkids how to shoot them and take care of them. Never seen someone so happy to receive the Gun Digest catalog.

His illness hampered his ability to do the things he loved, we are thankful he is now freed from his physical challenges he endured over the past few years. We will surely miss him and look forward to a future reunion.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Southern Utah Mortuary located at 190 North 300 West, Cedar City, UT 84720. A viewing will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to services. Online condolences can be sent to www.sumortuary.com.
