    (ST. GEORGE, Utah) - Dixie State University’s School of Humanities will host its final Barnum Honors Lecture of the 2013-14 academic year on Thursday, April 10, featuring renowned photographer Matthew Brandt. The lecture will begin at 12 noon, in the Zion Room (fifth floor) of the DSU Holland Centennial Commons. Admission is free for all community members, DSU students, and faculty and staff, and light refreshments will be served.

    Brandt’s work as a “photographic alchemist” has landed him in several permanent collections, including of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The J. Paul Getty Museum (Los Angeles), the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), the Armand Hammer Museum (Los Angeles), Bidwell Projects (Ohio), and the Elton John Collection, among many other collections throughout the country. Brandt was included in the “The Top 30 Under 30 in Art and Design” for Forbes by Jeffrey Deitch and Art in America included Brandt in its “Top Finds at Paris Photo Los Angeles” this year.

    A resident of Los Angeles, Brandt received his BFA from Cooper Union College (NYC) in 2004, and MFA from UCLA in 2008.
