Southern Utah scored back-to-back 49.025's to start the meet as the T-birds opened on floor and vault. Memory Shettles and Carly Sigler led the way for SUU on floor, scoring matching 9.850's and were followed closely by Brittney Jensen with a season-high 9.825. Ana Jaworski and Natalie Trejo rounded out the team score on floor with a 9.775 and 9.725, respectively.
Shettles began the rotation on vault for Southern Utah and fell on her landing, but the Thunderbirds finished the lineup 5-for-5 with freshmen Danielle Ramirez and Virginia Brownsell leading the way with a pair of 9.850's. Rochelle Bernier followed with a 9.800 and Jensen and Bozzuto punctuated the team score with a 9.775 and 9.750, respectively.
Southern Utah scored its third consecutive team mark of 49.000 or higher with a 49.050 on bars as all five scoring gymnasts tallied a 9.800 or higher. Bernier and Jamie Armijo led the way with a 9.825 and they were followed by a trio of 9.800's from Ramirez, Click and Bozzuto.
The Thunderbirds finished the meet on beam and earned a pair of all-conference citations as Bozzuto took home first-team honors with a career-high 9.900 and Trejo picked up second-team honors with a career-high 9.850 as the duo led the team to a 49.025 on the event. Shettles and Ramirez were close behind with 9.800's and Click rounded out the team score with a 9.675.
Bozzuto narrowly missed her career high in the all-around by .025, finishing with a 39.050 after setting new career highs on vault, bars and beam. Shettles wrapped up the all-around with a 38.500.
The University of Denver ultimately took the team title with a 196.925 after recovering from a poor first rotation where the Pioneers scored a 48.850 on bars to finish with a 49.400 on floor and a school-record 49.475 on vault. Boise State finished second with a 196.900, BYU fourth with a 196.100 and Utah State fifth with a 196.075.
All five Mountain Rim schools will now wait for regional assignments set to be announced live on www.ncaa.com on Monday at 1:00 p.m. (MT).
