The Thunderbirds answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame, however. Wolf’s two-out shot into the wind in left field brought home Tanisha Anderson and Kelli Hales, then Kadi Henderson followed Wolf with a triple into the right field corner. Madison Resley singled to left to drive in Henderson for the fourth run of the inning, staking SUU to a 9-5 advantage.

Southern Utah added an insurance run when Anderson scored on a passed ball.

Wolf and Henderson both had three hits on the day and Wolf had a game-high four RBI.

Ariel Hart threw two and a thirds innings of one-hit ball, striking out three, to pick up the win in relief and move to 2-5 on the season while Ioane took the loss to dip to 4-3.
