  • SUU's Ballroom Dance Company Performs "Jazz Hot"

    (CEDAR CITY, Utah) - It’s the movement and music that creates the magic behind SUU’s Ballroom Dance Company when it presents Jazz Hot, its sizzling spring concert. Scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29, 2014, in Cedar City’s Heritage Center Theater, the performance begins at 7:30pm and tickets are $10 for general public and $6 for all students.

    Featuring over 20 members of the Company’s Performance Ensembles in dazzling and colorful costumes, Jazz Hot spotlights the dancers performing such classics as the Waltz, Mambo, Paso Doble, Night Club Two Step, Foxtrot, Tango, Quickstep, Samba and more. The program includes choreography by Andrea Johnson (Company Director), Jessica Alejandro, Melissa Jewkes, Dustin Liechty and Ariel Peterson.

    The stylish choreography will be performed by the Company’s best dancers. The female performers include Jessica Alejandro, Alexis Chew, Corinna Christensen, Taryn Crimin, Chandler Hall, Rebekah Harris, Sharlee Jepson, Amber Kunzler, Yoli Lara, Beth Snarr, Ryann Woodbury and Shelby Woolsey. Their male partners include Carson Chandler, Ammon Garcia, Tom Hanratty, Tim Jenkins, Brian Kunzler, Dustin Liechty, Jeremy Muir, Colby Presley, James Proctor, Jordan Spidle and Kyle Taylor.

    The Southern Utah University Ballroom Dance Company is one of SUU's outstanding performing groups. The SUU Ballroom Dance Company puts on several campus and community events annually including Fall showcase, Spring showcase, and Dancing with the Stars. In addition the company reaches out to the surrounding community frequently doing performances for local organizations. This energetic group will keep you tapping your feet as you are entertained by wonderful music, beautiful costumes, and amazing formation ballroom dancing.
